Guildford is the historic county town of Surrey, offering excellent entertainment and shopping and surrounded by beautiful parks and historic buildings.

In the cobbled streets and lanes around the High street, there is plenty of history to discover, including Guildford Castle - Surrey's only Royal castle - and Lewis Carroll's house and grave. Guildford has a good selection of high street shops with a great variety of smaller shops. The Yvonne Arnaud Theatre stages Westend productions and the Guildford Civic shows a wide variety of productions, including Guildford's own Philharmonic Orchestra. There are many festivals held throughout the year, including the Guildford Summer Festival and the Guildford International Music Festival.
